If I can't have you... no one else should.

Cara is the main antagonist of Fears to Fathom - Carson House. She is the ex-girlfriend of the protagonist Noah Baker.

Personality[]

It's unclear what kind of person Cara was before her drug addiction, only that Walter Baker rightfully deduced her to be mentally troubled from start, even with her ability to keep a healthy relationship with her boyfriend Noah for a time. It was after she began doing meth her true self revealed thus leaving Noah no choice to break up with her and demand her to never contact him again. Due to her obsession over him, and Noah's attempts to get her into rehab, Cara didn't take this very well. This caused her drinking and drug consumption to escalate, leading to her stalking him all night long. Worse, she made attempts on his life by trying to set fire to the house Noah is watching over and finally taking a knife to stab him, showing how dangerous and unstable she really was.

Plot[]

Background[]

Before Carson House, 21-year old Cara used dating sites to try to connect with partners. 18-year old Noah Baker found Cara online through this method and despite the three year age difference, they began dating. Two months later, Cara began using drugs, specifically methamphetamine and became very hard to deal with. Noah attempted to convince her to stop, but Cara acted as if he was being the problematic one in their relationship by claiming that he was trying to change her against her will. Eventually, Noah broke up with Cara, infuriating her.

Fears to Fathom - Carson House[]

Cara is first seen outside the Knucks Convenience Store leaving in her car but is later seen parked across the street when Noah leaves, in next Andy and Turner reported his presence for Noah in store. She proceeds to stalk him during the night and follows him right back to Roy Carson’s house. Under the influence of alcohol and drugs, Cara attempts to text him about how his night is going and leaves flowers for him at the front door, although Noah is oblivious to this as he had blocked her number after they broke up.

She later turns off power to the house and quietly breaks into Carson’s home studio, where she waits. Over the course of the night, Cara gets increasingly agitated and upset, to the point where she grabs a knife from the kitchen with the intention of talking to Noah about their relationship. She proceeds upstairs where she knows Noah is, attempts to talk to him but become increasing erratic when Noah tells her to leave. She then attempts to confront Noah and proceeds to enter the room only to find Noah had managed to get past her.

Cara leaves after Noah managed to escape, though around this point Walter already called the cops thus leading to her arrest for breaking and entering as well as attempt murder. Her attempts to feign innocent failed as expected thanks to Carson residence's security footage which showed everything. As a result, Cara was sent to jail for a long time.

Trivia[]

  • In newer versions of the game, the line about Cara getting addicted was changed from "meth" to "hard drugs".
  • Cara was likely undergoing a stimulant-induced rush during her stalking of Noah, as implied by her frantic text messages and disjointed rantings when inside the house. She also had bags under her eyes, indicative of drug-related sleep deprivation, possibly meaning that Cara has been under the influence for several days.
  • Cara mentions someone named Todd in her texts. Given how she describes him as being "so much hotter" than Noah in her texts, Todd is presumably her new boyfriend. This of course, a hoax to gaslight Noah.
  • Cara is the first and so far only female antagonist of Fears to Fathom series with major role.
  • Apart from Noah's admission that she was sent to jail for a long time, it's not revealed what happened to her afterwards. Even if she had a lawyer who could make things easier for her during her trial, chances of her returning to Noah's life was slim to none given to her emotional issues.

    Cara in fan-made adaptation

In the fan-made film adaptation, Cara was arrested while chasing Noah out of the house due to her sloppiness from preventing Noah in calling the cops.
  • She is second antagonist to to conduct home invasion, preceded by Intruder.
  • In one of her lines, when she says to Noah, "If I can't have you...no one else should...." the line sounds familiar to the line of [1] Ayano Aishi's line of "if I can't have you, no one can" when she kills [2] Senpai in Yandere Simulator.
